My brother, Ivory Rucker, was beaten severely by Sidney Kendrick and Javaris Byrd at the Stone Mountain Inn on April 28th. These two men are relatives of Dar’shun Kendrick, a Georgia Representative and Attorney. They purposely went from hotel to hotel looking for my brother to do bodily harm or to murder him. The beating was so severe that a hotel maid got between the men and my brother because she feared they were going to kill him. My mentally ill brother, who has paranoid schizophrenia called Dar’shun because she is a Georgia Representative and Attorney. Ivory is delusional and diagnosed by a doctor who classified him as paranoid schizophrenic. He thinks that he is a politician and music producer. Dar’shun has a stalking protective order against my brother and is taking him to court for harassing communications. When the men were beating and kicking my brother, who was in a fetal position trying to protect his head, a witness told me they looked like undercover cops and one was saying, “This is for my sister.” He also said when SWAT got on the scene they had my brother on the ground and he was kicked in the head while in handcuffs. They did not protect him. The police officers should have protected my brother. The two men who beat him up should have been arrested.

The police report fails to mention anything about the beating. I thought it was odd that they made a special note that he was “fine.” I do not think he was. If you are kicked and punched repeatedly, there could be internal injuries. The police let relatives of Dar’shun Kendrick go after physical assault and battery on my brother. He was not given equal protection under the law. The police were biased and should be held accountable. The report should include the physical harm inflicted on my brother. My brother and I are going to take Sidney Kendrick and Javaris Byrd to court for assault and battery since the police didn’t. Inf act, Sgt. Harmon (SWAT) said my brother started it on Social Media when I asked why the other men weren’t arrested. However, my brother is mentally ill and sometimes does not make the best choices. I understand him. I do not understand police officers, swat, etc who let others take street justice into their own hands.
