Ivory Rucker is mentally ill. Dar’shun Kendrick, DeKalb County State Representative and attorney charged my brother, Ivory with Felony Stalking due to phone calls to her work office. She had previously charged him with Harassing Communications. On 4/28 Javaris Byrd and Sydney Kendrick attacked Ivory at his place of residence, Stone Mountain Inn. The men beat him for 4 minutes before the police arrived. When the police arrived, they didn’t arrest the men or talk to any witnesses. In the video you can see Ivory is in distress and is having convulsions. However, the police didn’t get him any medical help or report the assault on the police report. I interviewed witnesses and one said it looked like it was staged. Ivory said he passed out, felt his brain swell and go down while in jail without any help. I reported this to DeKalb County Internal Affairs which conveniently couldn’t download the video from the hotel and cleared the officers.
I was told by Internal Affairs that the officers didn’t have any body cam or car cams. I felt that Internal Affairs was trying to cover it up.
My brother has been in Fulton County custody since 4/28/2018 and he hasn’t had an arraignment or any chance to plead his case. I have been fighting vigorously for medical help and justice. I finally got him transferred to Georgia Regional in February 2019. Judge Cox wouldn’t sign the transfer order he issued in October 2018 (told paperwork was bad). I contacted my attorney, Jay Abt. He wouldn’t help at all. In fact, he made me feel that he wasn’t on my side. I had to have my Uncle Ron, who is an attorney draw up notarized statements to talk for me. After taking to my Uncle, Jay Abt got another transfer dated December 2018. DeChristaine Tarplin, Georgia Regional, would not honor the transfer. Frustrated, I contacted my Uncle, and had Khandi, who is a paralegal, call Karen Bailey (over the hospitals) and threatened contempt of court. The FBI is aware.
