The following information is transcribed from the police report arising on April 28, 2018 — the day Ivory was brutally beaten by Representative Kendrick’s boyfriend, Javaris Byrd and brother, Sydney Kendrick.

On 4/28/2018, at approximately 1429 Hours, I made contact with Ivory Rucker (SUSPECT) at 1819 Mountain Industrial Boulevard (The Stone Mountain Inn). I was patrolling the area when I was flagged down by a female who was staying at the hotel. She advised me that she did not know what was going on but it appeared two males may be getting ready to fight another on the second level. When I responded to the area, I observed two males (who were later identified as Javaris Byrd and Sidney Kendrick) standing near the suspect who was on the ground in a fetal position.
Both Stg. Harmon and I gave verbal commands to the subjects to sit on the ground, which they complied. I asked the suspect if he was injured. He replied “No sir, I’m fine.” I asked the suspect if he was hit or involved in a physical altercation, which he also stated he was not.
During my investigation, I interviewed both Javaris Byrd and Sidney Kendrick about the incident. Javaris Byrd Advised me that his girlfriend was Dar’Shun Kendrick, the 93rd District State Representative of Georgia and is being stalked and harrassed by the suspect. He continued to advise me that he was able to locate the suspect at the Stone Mountain Inn and confronted the suspect with Sidney Kendrick after he threatened to Kill Ms. Kendrick on Social Media. He stated that he confronted the Suspect, but there was not a physical altercation. He continued to explain to me that the suspect has been harassing Ms. Kendrick for over three years and every time the suspect is arrested, he is released. Mr. Byrd also showed me screenshots he took from Ivory Rucker’s facebook page. The posts were threatening in nature to both Attorney Hodges and State Representative Kendrick. I took pictures of the Screen Shots at the Scene. I was unable to upload the pictures with this report, but did email to homeland Security Detective J.K. Rucker.
When I interviewed Sidney Kendrick (Who is Dar’Shun Kendrick’s Brother) he calibrated what Mr. Byrd had stated.
An NCIC Check of Suspect’s name and date of Birth revealed an outstanding warrant out of (Originating Agency) for aggravated stalking to a State Government official on warrant # EW0230959). The Warrant was confirmed out of Capitol Police by GPS Operator C. Boykin.
The suspect, who was very alert, clear, concise and deliberate when I was originally talking to him at the scene, began talking to himself and acting as if he did not understand simple commands (Just as “Sit Down”) when he was informed he was under arrest.
When I transported the suspect to jail, he attempted to kick out my security screen in my unit (7790, no damage occurred to the property); however the suspect was yelling at this time, “That Bitch gonna die… That Bitch gonna Die…” The suspected stated that once I took the handcuffs off, he was going to kill everyone. I had officer T. White follow me to the jail, escort my unit to the jail.
The suspect was logged in the DeKalb County Jail on the warrant without further incident.
